Dear Tenant and Resident
Association (TRA),
IMPORTANT CHANGES TO TENANT
PARTICIPATION
SUPPORT SERVICES IN CAMDEN
This letter sets out some of the
changes that are happening with the way
Tenant Participation (TP) support
services will now be organised for your group.
These will now be split between the Camden
Federation of Tenants and Residents Associations
(CFTRA) and the Council.
These changes follow on from the
new funding agreement that the Council and the
CFTRA recently signed and which took effect from 1 April. You will probably be aware of the
discussions that have taken place at District
Management Committees since last year about the
Council’s proposals to change the way that TP
support services are carried out.
As a result of this new
agreement, CFTRA will no longer deal with the
processing of TRA registrations, TRA grants and
training or TRA complaints. This work will now
be carried out by the Council’s Tenant
Participation Team. However CFTRA will still
work with TRAs to support them in preparing
their Registration forms and in supporting them
generally. Two former CFTRA workers, Bruno
Sanhueza and Paul Fordham have now transferred
to the Council’s TP team to help us with this
work. We will be working closely with CFTRA to
ensure that these changes take place with the
least disruption possible.
We intend that these changes will
lead to an improved service for your group. I’ve
included a more detailed list of who to contact
at the Council or CFTRA for what support of
advice you need with this letter.
If you have any queries about
these changes, I would be happy to talk with you
about them.
Yours sincerely

Karen Orr
Tenant Participation Co-ordinator
